We use artisan woven jacquard silk, created on traditional looms using intricate weaving techniques rather than surface printing. The jacquard weave gives the fabric natural structure, depth, and durability, with pattern and character built directly into the cloth.

Every garment arrives pre washed, is fully machine washable, and includes simple care instructions for frequent wear and easy maintenance. The fabric is designed to maintain its integrity and appearance over time, even with regular use.

Crafted in Historic Vietnamese Silk Villages With French Seams

Production takes place in Vietnam’s historic silk villages, where silk weaving traditions have been refined over generations. Jacquard weaving is one of the most technically demanding forms of silk production, requiring precision, patience, and deep material knowledge.

Each garment is completed start to finish by a single skilled artisan and finished with couture grade French seams that enclose raw edges for durability, comfort, and longevity. Depending on the design, garments may include tagless interiors, irritation reducing construction, functional closures, and precisely finished hems.

Is the silk really machine washable

Yes. Our garments arrive pre washed and are designed to be washed cold on a delicate cycle using a mesh laundry bag and gentle detergent. Air dry. Light steaming is optional.

Will I need to iron the garment

Usually not. The jacquard weave naturally holds its structure. Wrinkles often soften with body heat while wearing. A light steam is sufficient if needed.

What makes artisan jacquard silk different

Jacquard silk is woven using complex loom techniques that create pattern, texture, and structure directly in the fabric. Unlike printed silk, the design is part of the weave itself, resulting in greater depth, durability, and character.

Is this real silk or satin

Tara Sartoria garments are made from 100 percent natural mulberry silk. Satin is a weave often made from polyester and does not provide the breathability, temperature regulation, or longevity of natural silk.
