About Our Silk
Silk has always been more than fabric. It is story, heritage, and ritual. Worn by emperors, traded like treasure along the Silk Road, and cherished as the cloth of dreams.
At Tara Sartoria, we call it Silk With Soul, because it carries history, honors craft, and connects you to something greater than fashion.
From Historic Silk Villages
We source directly from Vietnam’s oldest silk villages, where looms have been working since the 9th century. These are communities where weaving is not just a skill but a cultural inheritance passed through generations.
We use 27 Momme silk, over 40% denser than the 19 Momme silk found in mass-market products. Denser silk means stronger silk. It also means silk that drapes with more richness, holds color with more depth, and lasts with more integrity.
This is not mass-produced fabric. This is human time, patience, and artistry woven into every meter.
Zero Waste, Full Respect
From the beginning, we have honored a zero-waste philosophy. Every cut-off from robes, pillowcases, or dresses is saved and transformed into scrunchies, eye masks, or other small luxuries.
Nothing is wasted: not the earth’s resources, not the artisans’ labor, not the silk itself. Every thread is given new life.
Silk With Soul
Choosing Tara Sartoria means more than wearing silk. It means supporting artisans whose craft has endured for centuries. It means preserving traditions that value patience over speed, permanence over disposability, and beauty over convenience.
This is silk with presence. With weight. With meaning.
Silk With Soul.
