About Our Silk
Revered by royalty. Traded from East to West along the Silk Road. Silk is timeless. It deserves care and individual attention. It demands meticulous craftsmanship if it were to last. It is never meant to be a mass-produced item.
We save all cut offs and leftovers silk fabrics from the production of our silk pillowcases, kimonos and dresses. We then make silk face mask, eye masks and silk scrunchies and other small beautiful silk garments with them. The result is that we are able to offer these products at very good value for our customers, while honoring the earth, the silk and the artisans because no precious silk material is wasted.
It is a myth that silk requires dry cleaning. Lower quality silk requires dry cleaning, because lower quality silk will shrink or fade when washed in water. Silk has been around for thousands of years, way longer than dry cleaning has. Our silk is of the highest grade, produced in the traditional method, so you can absolutely wash it with water, including in washing machine on delicates cycle with garment bag for protection.
