Designed for sleep, but practical enough to wear as everyday underwear, these silk boxers feel smooth against the skin, breathe well through the night, and avoid the small irritations that make ordinary boxers annoying when you are trying to get comfortable.

The two-pack is for men who would rather not wait for laundry before wearing them again.

They are tagless, with seamless construction in the back so there is no seam digging in. The waistband is wrapped in silk, so elastic is not sitting directly against your skin, and it is designed not to twist.

Made from 27 momme mulberry silk of Grade 6A equivalent quality, woven on traditional looms in Vietnam. At this weight, the silk feels substantial without feeling thick or bulky.

Each pair is individually crafted with French seams throughout. The seams are folded inward and enclosed, so they feel smoother against the skin and help the boxers hold up over time.

Machine washable on a delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry. Available in sizes XS–4XL.

We have detailed size guides, but when in doubt, choose the same size as your T-shirt. If you are still unsure, email Tara. She will help you herself.

Sizing

Silk does not stretch, so we cut
everything loose on purpose. A true-to-size fit drapes the way real silk is
meant to: skimming the body, never clinging to it. Order the size you normally
wear. If you are between two sizes, size down for a more tailored line, or stay
true for something more relaxed.

We make XS to 4XL. Same silk at
every size. Same French seams. Same quality. Because luxury should be for
everyone.

The size guide above has
chest, waist, and length in inches and centimeters.

Material and Care

Most silk on the market is
light. Ours is significantly heavier, which is the part you feel the moment you
pick a piece up: more silk per square inch, denser drape, smoother hand, far
less prone to pilling. It is the difference between silk that flatters a hanger
and silk that flatters a person.

It is woven on traditional looms
in Vietnam’s historic silk villages, then individually crafted into each
garment with French seams throughout. French seams enclose the raw edge of the
fabric inside a second, hidden seam. They take twice as long to sew and use
more fabric, which is why most brands skip them. They are also why our silk
survives the washing machine.

To care for it, slip the garment
into the silk pouch your order arrived in (or any mesh laundry bag), wash cold
on a delicate cycle with a gentle detergent, and lay it flat to dry. No bleach.
No dry cleaner. A care card is included in every order, in case you misplace
these instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Is this silk really machine
washable?

Yes. Slip the garment into the
silk pouch it arrived in, run a cold delicate cycle with a gentle detergent, and lay it flat to dry. No dry cleaner, ever. The reason it survives the washing machine is the construction: French seams throughout, woven and sewn the way silk has been cared for at home for centuries.

Why does silk this nice not
need dry cleaning?

Because it is built for daily life, not a glass case. Silk has been washed at home for thousands of years.
Dry cleaning is a fix for cheap construction and synthetic finishes, not a feature of real silk. Ours is woven on traditional looms and individually crafted with French seams that hold up to a washing machine.

What does “premium-density”
mean, and why does it matter?

Silk is measured by weight per square inch. Most silk on the market is light. Ours is significantly heavier.
The heavier the silk, the better it drapes, the longer it holds its color, the less it pills, and the longer it lasts. You feel the difference the moment you pick a piece up.

I am between sizes. Should I
size up?

No. Our cut is already loose, because silk does not stretch. Order the size you normally wear. If you want a more tailored line, size down. If you want more room, stay true.

Do you make silk for men?

Yes. Roughly two thirds of our customers are men. Pajamas, robes, boxers, and shirts in XS to 4XL. The same silk, the same French seams, the same care.

Will I have to iron it?

Almost never. Body heat softens silk wrinkles within minutes of wearing it, and a quick steam handles the rest.
If it is sleepwear, you can usually skip both. We share your dislike of ironing, which is part of why we love silk.

What are French seams, and
why do you use them?

A French seam encloses the raw edge of the fabric inside a second, hidden seam. The garment is finished inside and out, with no exposed threads anywhere. It takes twice as long to sew and uses more fabric, which is why most brands skip it. Turn any of our pieces inside out and look. That is not a marketing phrase, it is a construction
standard you can verify.

Is this silk suitable for
sensitive skin?

Yes. Mulberry silk is naturally hypoallergenic and temperature regulating, and ours is free from the harsh chemicals used in dry cleaning and synthetic finishes. Many of our customers with eczema and skin sensitivities tell us it is the first fabric they have been able to sleep in comfortably.

Can I wear this every day?

Yes. Our customers tell us they wear the same robe and pajama sets multiple times a week for years. The density
is the durability.

How does this compare to
satin?

Satin is a weave, usually made from polyester. Silk is a natural fiber. Polyester satin traps heat, pills quickly, and feels different against the skin within an hour of wearing it. Mulberry silk breathes, regulates temperature, and gets softer with wear.

Are these giftable?

Yes, and the gift wrapping is part of the gift. Every piece arrives in an artisan-crafted silk pouch you can reuse as a wash bag, a travel pouch, or a storage pouch.

What is the silk pouch that
comes with my order?

Instead of a disposable cardboard box, every Tara Sartoria piece arrives wrapped in a handcrafted silk pouch. It is the gift wrapping, the wash bag we recommend for machine-washing your silk, and a travel or storage pouch. One object, three jobs, no waste.

Do you offer free returns?

Free exchanges within 30 days on U.S. orders, including a prepaid label both ways. Standard returns are also welcome within 30 days with no restocking fee, but customers cover shipping unless the item arrived defective. Email care@tarasartoria.com to start either one.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International shipping is a flat $35 and takes roughly two weeks. Because each piece is individually crafted in limited quantities, we cannot accept international returns or exchanges, so please email Tara at care@tarasartoria.com before you order and she will help you find the right size.

Silky Sexy Time

After 20 years in boxer briefs, I decided it was time to change things up. These feel very kinky to wear. I am used to more restraint. These are more of a bedroom pair of underwear to me, instead of an all day thing. But I won’t judge you if that is how you roll… These feel like nice quality and the waist band is comfortable on the skin.

100% silk

This pair of silk boxers is incredibly comfortable and smooth. From what I can tell, this is real silk just in the way that it feels and how light reflects on them. The boxers are not stiff and they feel really soft while wearing them. They came very wrinkly out of the bag but steaming them got all of the wrinkles out. They do wrinkle easily but it’s not the worst thing. I washed mine by hand and they were fine but you can also machine wash them with mild detergent. They dried pretty fast by hanging them to air dry because you can’t throw them in the dryer. Overall, they’ve become my favorite pair of boxers to wear around the house and I would order a second pair.

Soft, airy; go a size higher; waistband stretches; has fly w/o buttons or snaps

I love how these Silk Boxers feel as I wear them - so soft and smooth to the touch. The boxers are loose-fitting, feel light and airy. The waistband stretches. It has a fly; there are no buttons or snaps. It has slits at the sides. When I wear pants over the boxers, they bunch up a little. While this is machine washable, I prefer to hand wash them, and then air dry. The tag on the boxers has the following instructions: -- machine wash cold in laundry mesh bag. Delicate cycle with like colors. Mild detergent -- do not tumble dry. Hang to dry Lastly, as far as sizing is concerned, the size runs small. I usually buy men's size 34 waist. According to the sizing chart on the product page, I should wear a Medium. However, this Large size boxers that I received fits me just fine - not too loose, not too tight. Overall, I love the classic solid black color, and the comfortable feel of these Silk Boxers.

Nice fit and great feel!

I picked these up for hubby, who typically wears boxer briefs . To my surprise he actually loves them! The color is a nice rich blue. The boxers are well sewn and the material is decent. I was expecting the underwear to be a bit more silky in texture but hubby loves them and says they feel satiny. He likes the fit and says he was still “secure”. He loves them!

I’ve never had silk boxers before…

As the title said, I’ve never had silk boxers before. I have had polyester and cotton, but never silk. If I’m being completely honest, these boxers feel and look just like a polyester boxer. In fact, I can’t really tell the difference in terms of how it feels and looks. One big difference is that polyester is machine washable and dryable – silk isn’t. Another odd thing I noticed is that these don’t have a tag of any kind on them – that’s something you don’t see very often. All this being said, these feel really nice and are comfortable to wear. I basically wear them to sleep in. I like the company’s social mission too. Also, there’s something to be said about wearing silk – it’s a nice, small, everyday luxury you can indulge in. Overall, I am a fan of these boxers despite the price tag.

High Quality Top Quality Boxers from A Woman Owned Business with a Cause

Before ordering these boxers, I honestly really didn’t know anything about this brand. I did not expect such a high quality garment, nor to find that the company is really great! These came in a very nice silk drawstring bag, with the cards I took a picture of telling you more about them and a card with a hand written thank you message as well as the batch number of the boxers. I was immediately impressed. These silk boxers really stand above many others. These are made of silk that has been hand loomed in a traditional silk village in either Vietnam or Indonesia. The silk is 27 Momme, which is a unit of weight measurement for silk. A higher Momme count means the silk is a heavier weight and denser weave. 19 Momme silk is what is commonly used for mass produced silk clothes, just for a frame of reference. They do have a great weight, so they don't feel too light or flimsy, but they're still so cooling and soft! I overheat very easily, and am very sensitive to texture, but I have no issue with these. Also, the tag is on the leg seam, so no annoying, itchy tag. The elastic band does not cut into me or leave imprints at all, and is made of the same high quality silk as the rest of the boxers. The company itself is a small Woman owned business that works with nonprofits to help impoverished women in Indonesia and for helping children in Vietnam who are in crisis. They donate 10% of their profits towards these causes. It's really fantastic and makes me feel good about purchasing from the company! These are very well sewn as well. The edges have been overlocked, and there are no loose threads or rushed stitching. These are also machine washable in a garment bag for delicates, you just need to hang dry them but they dry very quickly! I didn't know this until I read it on the company's site, but high quality silk does not have to be dry cleaned. It is only lower quality silk that must be dry cleaned because otherwise they can shrink and/or fade. Overall, highly recommend these boxers and this company! I'm very impressed and I'll definitely be a returning customer for more of their products.

The most comfortable, luxurious boxers I've owned!

These boxers are amazing! They come in a silk bag with tags that explain details of this awesome woman owned company. There is another tag hand signed by the person who handmade the boxers, as well as the date they were made and a limited edition number. After washing the boxers (which they provide excellent info about) I immediately put them on. They are so soft and so silky, very nice! It almost feels like wearing nothing. The waistband is a perfect fit (I wear large, I ordered large), the rest of the boxer is a loose fit. There are also side slits on the legs at the side for better range of motion (specifically when kneeling or bending down). My only complaint would be that the fly has no closure, like a button. I can say the fly is stitched in such a way where you're not too easily exposed, that sort of makes up for lack of a button. Overall, I can't stop raving about these boxers and my wife definitely loves them. I very highly recommend!

The nicest pair of silk boxers I have found in a long time

Upfront disclosure: I received this for free through the Amazon Vine program. Silk boxers are one of those delights in the realm of men's clothes. Most men's undergarments are cotton or synthetic materials. They are typically comfortable but not something I would call luxurious. These are very luxurious and lovely. Many years ago it was fairly easy to find satin and silk men's boxers. Then they went out of fashion and became harder to find. The last pair I bought from a different company looked like boxers when laying flat but lacked any gusseting to allow for the presence of any actual curves and anatomy. I ordered these, put them on and was instantly comfortable. They do not have gussets stitched in but they have been constructed with flowing room and certainly accommodate male anatomy. If you are looking for some silk boxers, these are particularly lovely. I highly recommend everyone has a pair of silk boxers in their drawer and these are a fantastic pair to have.

Nice material and fits well

These silky boxers are actually pretty nice. They aren’t a flimsy silk but they aren’t too heavy either. They come packaged as if they were a gift. I got a medium and they are loose in the right places. The only thing that could be improved on is the waist elastic. It could be a wider band. Other than that they are what most people would think silk boxers should be like.

Should be great for sleeping

It is obvious upon arrival that this company is special. Woman owned, providing flexible work, fair wages, university scholarships and 10% of their profits to the operation of a mico finance program (PPMK). I went back to look at the product page, and it does say woman owned, but not much beyond that. I like the idea of supporting a company that supports others. As far as the actual product, it is nice. They were a bit stiff upon arrival. To be totally honest, I don't own many silk products, so could be just from sitting in packaging after being made, could be just how all silk products arrive. But they do soften up nicely when washed. I got the large, 6 foot tall, 185 pounds, look nothing like the guy pictured on the product page. These are on the baggy side on me, I could probably fit into a medium, but these are not too big. If I were wearing them with tighter pants, might be an issue, but most of my pants are baggy enough not to worry. I am thinking however, I will use them to sleep in. Nice, lightweight, look good and comfortable. Perfect for hot summer nights. For women who like to sleep in boxers, these would also work fine. They do have a fly, but it stays closed, and you could always add a stitch or two to permanently close it. Quality is great. All the stitching looks perfect, no loose threads, even came with a little silk bag if you want to give these as a gift, or reuse the bag for giving something else if the boxers are for you. A 5 star product from a 5 star company.
