Tara Sartoria is a small, women-owned business based in the USA. We specialize in luxury artisan silk sleepwear, with each piece meticulously handcrafted to envelop you in elegance and comfort—designed for the most restful nights imaginable.
Founded by Tara Nguyen in 2020 with her savings and a dream, Tara Sartoria was born from a desire to create a meaningful business that supports both traditional craftsmanship and women’s empowerment.
We work directly with artisans in ancient silk villages in Vietnam. Every garment is produced in limited quantities using sustainable practices—zero fabric waste, eco-friendly materials, and minimal packaging. Our handmade production model keeps environmental impact low while preserving age-old silk-making techniques.
Through flexible, fair-wage work and university scholarships, we help women in disadvantaged communities build a better future. We also donate 10% of our profits to support women's education and economic independence—because when women succeed, entire communities rise.

4. Where are Tara Sartoria garments made?
Our silk garments are handmade in Vietnam by skilled artisans from villages known for their centuries-old silk-making traditions. We work directly with them to ensure quality, authenticity, and fair working conditions.
5. What makes Tara Sartoria silk different?
Our silk is made following traditional artisan methods without the use of harmful chemicals. We use 100% mulberry silk—luxuriously soft, breathable, and long-lasting. It's kind to the skin and the planet.
6. What does 27 momme silk mean?
Momme is a unit that measures the weight and quality of silk. Our 27 momme silk is thicker and more durable—containing over 40% more silk than the standard 19 momme used in mass-produced garments. It’s luxury you can feel.
7. Does your silk need to be dry cleaned?
No! Our silk is made using traditional methods that go back to the 9th century. It can be safely hand-washed or machine-washed—no harsh dry-cleaning chemicals required.
8. Can I machine-wash Tara Sartoria silk? How?
Yes. Place your silk item in a mesh laundry bag and wash on a cold, delicate cycle using a silk-safe detergent. Tara recommends washing with 1 tbsp of shampoo and 1 tbsp of conditioner mixed into 1 cup of water, which helps maintain the silk’s shine and softness.
9. How should I care for my Tara Sartoria silk garments?
Wash by hand or machine on a delicate cycle using cold water and silk-safe detergent. Always air dry and avoid sunlight or high heat.
10. Do I need to iron silk?
Not really! Our silk naturally smooths out with body heat. Most wrinkles fade on their own while worn. A quick steam works wonders, and washing with conditioner reduces wrinkling even more.
11. What are French seams and why do you use them?
French seams are a high-end technique used in luxury clothing. Each seam is sewn twice for a clean, polished finish inside and out. It’s more labor-intensive but results in garments that last longer and feel finer.
12. Can I wear Tara Sartoria silk garments every day?
Absolutely. Our 27 momme silk is strong and durable. Many of our customers wear their silk boxers, robes, and loungewear daily and love how they hold up over time.
13. Are Tara Sartoria silk garments see-through?
Most are not. Some lighter-colored items may be slightly sheer. Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions about a specific item.
14. I'm between sizes M and L. What should I order?
We recommend not sizing up, as our clothing is loose-cut and silk doesn’t stretch. If you’re between M and L, choose size M for a more flattering fit.
15. What sizes are available?

16. Is your packaging eco-friendly?
Yes! Our packaging is both reusable and recyclable. Instead of using a paper box to pack our luxurious silk clothing, we carefully place each item in a beautiful handmade silk pouch.
