"This is the best silk pillowcase I've ever owned! The silk feels thick, cool and slippery to the touch; a treat to sleep on. The color was true to the photo. The fold over opening (inside the pillow case, on the short side) which encloses the pillow is made in such a way that minimizes wear & tear on the silk when putting it on/off the pillow. This is also the most expensive silk pillow I've ever purchased but compared to other silk pillow cases I've bought, this is a much, much higher quality product! The beautifully done French seams mitigate seam stress during washing and extend life span of the pillow case. "

We use 27 momme natural mulberry silk, a heavier and more durable grade than the 19 to 22 momme silk commonly used in silk clothing. The higher density creates a richer feel, stronger structure, and long term durability.
Every garment arrives pre washed, is fully machine washable, and includes simple care instructions for frequent wear and easy maintenance.

Production takes place in Vietnam’s historic silk villages, where textile expertise has been refined over generations.
Each garment is completed start to finish by a single skilled artisan and finished with couture grade French seams that enclose raw edges for durability, comfort, and longevity. Depending on the design, garments may include tagless interiors, irritation reducing construction, functional closures, and precisely finished hems.

Because silk does not stretch and garments are cut with a relaxed fit, we generally recommend choosing the smaller size when between sizes.

Is the silk really machine washable
Yes. Our garments arrive pre washed and are designed to be washed cold on a delicate cycle using a mesh laundry bag and gentle detergent. Air dry. Light steaming is optional.
Will I need to iron the garment
Usually not. Silk naturally relaxes with body heat and wrinkles often soften while wearing. A light steam is sufficient if needed.
What makes 27 momme silk different
Momme measures silk density. 27 momme silk contains significantly more silk per square inch than the 19 to 22 momme silk commonly used in mass produced garments, resulting in greater durability and longevity.
Why does 27 momme silk cost more than most silk garments
Higher momme silk contains more silk per square inch. This results in a richer feel, stronger structure, and a longer lifespan.
Is this real silk or satin
Tara Sartoria garments are made from 100 percent natural mulberry silk. Satin is a weave often made from polyester and does not provide the breathability or temperature regulation of natural silk.
Do you offer custom sizing
Yes. Custom sizing is available for all styles. Typical adjustments include garment length, sleeve length, width, and split sizing for pajama sets. Custom garments carry a 30 percent surcharge, require a two to three week turnaround, and are final sale.
