A French seam is a two-stage construction that completely encloses the raw fabric edge within the seam structure. Both stitch lines bear structural load, making French seams significantly more resistant to lateral stress than single-stitched seams. French seam construction takes two to three times longer per garment. Tara Sartoria uses French seams throughout every garment.

What detergent should I use for silk?

Use a pH-neutral, silk-safe detergent such as Woolite or The Laundress Delicate Wash. Avoid standard laundry detergents (alkaline, pH 9 to 11) and biological detergents (enzyme-based). Both cause protein fiber degradation over repeated wash cycles.

Fits perfectly --- I'm a size 12 on US scale, and the Large fits well even after washing --- no shrinkage. I love this nightgown soooo much!!!

I can't believe how soft this silk feels on my skin. It is so comfortable to wear and I feel so luxurious and fancy in it! Fits me as I expected it to fit. I wash it in a delicates bag on the delicate cycle and then air dry. It does have wrinkles but i hit it with my steamer real quick and it looks smooth and luxurious again. I love this nightie a lot!!

Comfortable and luxurious

This silk slip night dress is absolutely beautiful. It is a nice weight and not thin or see through at all, that it could actually be worn as a slip dress for day wear. The straps are adjustable as well. I like my sleep dress to be on the slightly loose side and the size medium was perfect. For reference I’m 5’4” and 130 lbs. The silk material is very soft and luxurious. I feel like I sleep better when I wear this dress. The dress also comes in a matching silk drawstring pouch that you can use if washing the dress in a washing machine. Everything about this item is top quality.

Soft smooth luxurious real silk

Absolutely beautiful silk nighty. It came in its own little silk bag to keep it safe in. I love mulberry silk and as a fiber artist I have spun it before. This definitely has that smooth silky feel like processed silk should (raw silk feels a bit coarser). Straps are adjustable. I really like this nightgown/slip and look forward to lounging and sleeping in it come spring and summer.
